Police responded to Dickerson and 3rd streets after a 9-1-1 caller said the man had leapt from a third floor window, a spokeswoman for the Newark Police Department said.
The man was lying on the sidewalk with a leg injury, and taken to University Hospital for treatment.
This incident is under investigation.
